注目される英国のGDP成長率

GBP traders are expected to keep a close eye on the release of the UK GDP rates today. The UK GDP rates are expected to remain at anemic levels if not slow down, and in conjunction with BoE’s still ongoing monetary policy tightening cycle, could bring the UK economy into a recession. Thus, should the release today not excite pound traders, we may see it weighing on the sterling. On a technical level, the pound edged lower against the USD yesterday, yet cable respected the lower boundary of its sideways motion, namely the 1.2675 (S1) support line. We tend to maintain our bias for the sideways motion to continue for the time being, and for a clear-cut bearish outlook, we would require GBP/USD to actually break the 1.2675 (S1) support line and aim for the 1.2485 (S2) support base. Should the bulls take over, we may see GBP/USD reversing course, breaking the 1.2815 (R1) resistance line that is also the upper boundary of its current sideways motion and aim for the 1.2995 (R2) resistance level.

中国の原油需要見通しに対する市場の懸念は、OPECの楽観的な見通しを上回ったようだ。OPECは、今年後半から2024年にかけての原油市況は健全で、原油価格を押し上げるだろうと予想しているが、中国の経済見通しや原油需要の減少に対する市場の懸念が重荷となる傾向がある。

円安が続き、日銀による口先介入のリスクが高まっているようだ。日銀が超金融緩和政策を維持するとの市場の期待が強まり、円安が続いたが、円安が進むにつれ、日銀が少なくとも口頭で市場介入を行う可能性が強まり、実際にそうなれば、日本の通貨が突然上昇することになるかもしれない。

今日の欧州市場では、英国の6月および第2四半期のGDPと、フランスの7月確定消費者物価指数が発表される。米国市場では、7月のPPIと8月のミシガン大学消費者心理指数速報値が発表される。
